SIGMA Marketing Insights is committed to keeping pace with the fast-moving data industry and the speed of marketing technology. A new and important milestone in our progressive relationship with strategic partner Tableau Software is the latest proof.
In mid-December two members of the SIGMA team – Ben Husband and David Penz – successfully received the Tableau Desktop 8 Qualified Associate Certification. With more than 18 months each working directly inside Tableau, Ben and David have championed our ongoing efforts to deliver compelling visual insights to a variety of SIGMA clients through our mi-LinkTM marketing intelligence platform.
The Desktop 8 Qualified Associate distinction requires a combination of hands-on learning within the Tableau platform, and passing of a two-hour exam observed live via webcam by a Tableau proctor. It tests knowledge of the inner-workings and terminology of the software, and also challenges participants with live scenarios extremely relative to the work we do for clients. Ben and David received their certifications on December 15, 2014.
SIGMA has a longstanding, successful relationship with Tableau. Prior to these certifications, our VP of Digital, Andrew Lucyszyn, spoke at Tableau’s annual user conference, Destination Data 2014. Tableau’s industry-leading data visualization technology has greatly enhanced the speed and quality of the marketing insights we’re delivering to clients today.
“We have been working with SIGMA Marketing for nearly 10 years. Their insight, analysis and grasp of our data is amazing and has helped steer every decision we make,” said Randall Lippincott, membership development manager at AAA Mid-Atlantic, a current SIGMA client. “They are a fully collaborative and integral part of our strategic planning.”
Ben and David have made innovative contributions to the evolution of SIGMA’s Tableau-driven mi-Link platform, which provides clients with real-time, data-driven customer intelligence.
“The insights portal (mi-Link) is the single most valuable tool we use,” Lippincott added. “It is so much more than just a dashboard; it is a crucial element in helping us understand everything about our business from acquiring new customers to retaining them. The flexibility and speed by which changes or additional data can be added is superb.”
